WINTER 2026 ISSUE—QUARTERLY UPDATE
2025 AND THE NEW DIRECTION FOR THE CFoP
At the beginning of 2025 we took a realistic look at our yearly expenses. Our membership has been low since the pandemic in 2020 and we were no longer able to sustain our association with Wanner and Associates. They were the legal firm that handled all of our administrative affairs and finances. We decided to go on our own to handle the affairs of the Fellowship and as of June 1, 2025 we have been handling things ourselves. Everyone on the Board stepped up and made great efforts to insure that we would see this through and survive. We are all volunteers and no one receives any financial compensation for the responsibilities that they have taken on. Our primary purpose is to protect the 'Sacred Trust' and we are deternimed to keep that as the foundation for the practice of chiropractic in Pennsylvania.
One of the casualties of going out on our own was the reality that we could no longer afford to pay a lobbyist in Harrisburg. We simply do not have the funds to hire someone, but we have many ways of keeping an eye on things that affect the practice of chiropractic in Pennsylvania. As we move forward we will be saving our membership fees and seminar surpluses to use if/when we would ever need to acquire legal counsel. Things have been pretty quiet in Pa the past several years and we feel very good that this is the best approach to maintain the CfoP in good financial standing.
We have also adjusted our membership fees to reflect our restructuring. Our new fee for full-time DC's is now $300/year and runs from January to December. All other levels of membership have remained the same. You can now pay online using our QR code or send a check to the address on our website. Please renew as soon as you can if you are an existing member and please encourage others in your areas to come on board with us. Membership needs to grow if we are to continue to be a voice for chiropractic in Pennsylvania.
In addition to keeping an eye on practice and trade issues, the CfoP is focusing on providing a place for new and existing chiropractors who are seeking mentoring or associate resources. This year we are dedicating our focus on providing resources for chiropractors who need guidance and direction to help them succeed. We need to make Pennsylvania a state that is once again attractive for DC's to migrate toward. Many practices will close in the next 10 years if we don't figure out how to draw new chiropractors to our state. This would be a terrible loss to so many of our communities that have learned the benefits of a chiropractic-based lifestyle. Please help us to help those who have done great work for many years to pass along the legacy of their efforts rather than close their doors forever. We welcome suggestions and content from all members to contribute to our mission. Please reach out to us anytime you have something you think would help.
In case you missed it, 2025 was also a year in which chiropractors in Montana almost gained the right to prescribe medications. The bill was only 1 vote shy of passing. The CfoP and its members were among many in America to express our opposition to the bill and many of us sent numerous emails to all of the Montana Representatives. If one state falls, then the entire profession will begin a state-by-state struggle. We are determined to never see this presented to our Pa chiropractors.
BRINGING FELLOWSHIP BACK TO THE FELLOWSHIP
Mark you calendars for Saturday March 7! We will be having our first 'Above Atlas Summit' at Dr. Aaron Tressler's office in Export, Pa. This will be a concentrated and powerful program with multiple speakers who will motivate and re-ignite you and your staff with the philosophy of chiropractic. There is a flyer at the bottom of this newsletter with details and registration information. This flyer will also be on our website at chirofellowpa.org under the 'Events' tab. Seating will be limited so please do not wait to register.
In our last newsletter we announced that we will be collaborating with the PCA for a CE conference in May at the Kalahari Water Park in the Poconos. The event will be May 1-3 and we hope to have a link for Fellowship members to register soon. We have helped to bring in Edwin Cordero as the keynote speaker and also Lona Cook with Amanda Blonigen to provide a special presentation on bringing chiropractic into our school systems. Our Board members, Dr. Jeffrey Wack, Dr.Selina Sigafoose-Jackson and Dr. Kevin Jackson will be on the program. We will also be having a philosophy break-out session to allow for audience participation and sharing how to operate a principled, philosophy-based practice. We realize this is also Sherman Lyceum weekend, but the date had already been picked by the PCA and we are thankful that they have allowed us to jump on board. The effort it takes to put on a large event such as this one is beyond belief and they have done most of the legwork.
The next New Beginnings will be held May 14-17 in Asbury Park, NJ. If you have not attended this seminar it is filled with great speakers and philosophy. Many of our CfoP members have spoken at New Beginnings and there are a few on the program again for May. You can find more information and registration details by visiting www.nbchiro.com
