SPRING 2026 ISSUE—QUARTERLY UPDATE

2026 is a Continuing Education Year

In addition to CE credits in chiropractic subjects, the legislature requires 2 credit hours in Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting. Newly licensed chiropractors are required to complete 3 hours. Details of the requirements are on the State Board of Chiropractic website. We recommend taking the course through the University of Pittsburgh. You can access the course by going to www.reportabusepa.pitt.edu . Your previous login and password are still valid for 2026. The course is a timed course and you can pause as many times as you would like while completing it. Upon completion, your credits will automatically be forwarded to the State Board of Chiropractic. As always, you will need to provide your license number and last 4 digits of your SSN. The credits from this course count toward your 24 hours required for license renewal. X-ray safety credits are required every 4 years. If you have an X-ray tube you are required to obtain 4 hours of safety training. The Fellowship offered their x-ray safety course in 2025 and will offer the next one in 2029 to stay consistent with the 4-year rotation.

How to Renew Your License in 2026

All license renewal is done online. Keep an eye out for an email from the State Board around July 1, 2026 from [email protected] . It will be sent to the email address you last used to renew your license in 2024. You will need your PALS credentials to login and process your license renewal. They will require your malpractice information and an attestation of completion of your 24 hours of approved CE credits. Payment will be paid by credit card. They are no longer accepting checks.

Future Continuing Education

The State Board requires you to maintain records of your continuing education credits for 4 years. You do not need to submit any records to the State Board unless you are audited. Audits are done at random, but are performed within 2 years of your license renewal. Please check our 'Events' page periodically as we are always working on planning Gatherings in your areas. We will also send out a notice to your email when something new is on the calendar.

Please Welcome Our Newest Board Membership

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Leah John to our Northeast Region Director position. Dr. John will be a great addition to our Board. She shares our mission of keeping the principles and philosophy at the forefront of chiropractic in Pennsylvania. Dr. John practices in Allentown, Pa and is the owner and operator of Compass Chiropractic and Family Wellness. Her contact information can be found on our website in the 'About' section.

BRINGING FELLOWSHIP BACK TO THE FELLOWSHIP

If you are attending the Chiro Summit in the Poconos May 1-3, please make it a point to attend the classes that the CfoP has planned. We will be having 2 hours of 'Fellowship Open Forum' time on Saturday May 2 after our keynote speaker Dr. Edwin Cordero. We will provide a chance for doctors to share and discuss any aspects of practice or personal growth ideas to help you continue to be a strong presence in your communities. This will be a non-CE block, but you will walk away with very valuable tools to bring back to the office on Monday morning.

The next New Beginnings will be held May 14-17 in Asbury Park, NJ. If you have not attended this seminar it is filled with great speakers and philosophy. Many of our CfoP members have spoken at New Beginnings and there are a few on the program again for May. You can find more information and registration details by visiting www.nbchiro.com
