THE LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES FROM THE CHIROPRACTIC FELLOWSHIP OF PENNSYLVANIA

This newsletter is to keep you informed on the state of our profession in Pennsylvania. The Fellowship is always working to protect your license and your right to practice. We will also provide you with any updates regarding CE or other requirements to maintain your license.

MEMBERSHIP IS KEY TO OUR SUCCESS

We greatly appreciate all of those who have supported us for many years. The fact of the matter is that our numbers have dropped a good bit since 2020 and we really need your help to bring more DC's on board. Please reach out to other docs down the street and share with them why you have been a member for all these years. Together we can create a great place where all DC's can gather and share the love we have for our great profession.

2025 CFOP CHIROPRACTOR OF THE YEAR

The CFOP has selected Dr. Selina Sigafoose-Jackson as our 2025 Chiropractor of the Year! Dr. Selina has spent the last 4 years as the President of the ICA(International Chiropractors Association). She has served on many positions with them over the years, but was the first female President in their 99 year history. She has spent countless hours and many sleepless nights working to preserve and protect our profession and our right to practice chiropractic as our founders laid out in our philosophy. We cannot thank her enough for all she has done to help keep our profession secure as we move forward.

2025 IS AN X-RAY SAFETY CE YEAR-SAVE THE DATES!

Dr. Dave Smith will be offering an x-ray safety program in Harrisburg July 19, Pittsburgh-Monroeville July 26 and Philadelphia-Fort Washington August 2. These CE requirements will be due by September 1 of 2025. Anyone who operates an x-ray unit is required to be certified in x-ray safety every 4 years. This applies to DC's and CA's(if the CA is ACRRT certified and takes x-rays in the office). Document 291-4200-001 from the Bureau of Radiation Protection mandates x-ray safety CE every 4 years since it was adopted in 2009. Registration information will follow shortly.

OUR MARCH 15 GATHERING WAS A GREAT EVENT!

On March 15 we had an event in York, Pa that brought together many CFOP members as well as a few DC's from New Jersey and even a gentleman from Buffalo, NY! Dr. Kevin Jackson presented his Jackson CCJ technique during the first 4 hours. The audience was very receptive to his adjusting system that he has been developing for the past several years and left with a new way of analyzing and assessing the cervical spine. After a short break, we proceeded into the 'Gathering' portion of the program. The 'Gathering' was the name of the seminars that Jim Sigafoose presented for many years and we did our best to honor his efforts by recreating some of the exercises he had shown us. Dr. Peter Gratale performed a sound bath followed by holotropic breathing and a guided meditation presented by Dr. Gary Stewart. We then presented the 'Circle of Forgiveness' which was guided by Dr. Jeffrey Wack and Selina Sigafoose-Jackson. We ended the evening with a sharing session which was concluded with an awesome share from Sharon Gorman. Dr. Gratale did a final sound session as we wound things down before departing. So many people had some wonderful breakthroughs and left a little lighter than when they arrived. Improving ourselves is a vital component to improving our practices. Abundance is not found in money or possessions. It is connecting with your true self and sharing that energy with everyone you come in contact with. Thanks to all who joined us!

LOTS OF NEW UPDATES COMING THIS YEAR

For many years the CFOP has been using the services of Wanner and Associates in Harrisburg to serve as our home office location and business center. They have served us well and we can't thank them enough for all the great service they have provided. We have chosen to move forward as an independent group and handle the daily chores of managing our organization ourselves. Our official and start date as an independent group will be May 1. Up until May 1 you can still contact us at the address or phone number below. We hope to have a very smooth transition as there will be some degree of a learning curve for us, but we will work very hard to continue to provide you with great content and information. We will also be building a new website that will be going live as close to May 1 as possible. We will be providing new content and hope to have a 'members only' section where you can access unique materials and video with your paid membership. I have spoke to many people who say they 'do not do' Facebook. Even if you do not wish to be a regular poster on Facebook, it has become one of the easiest ways for groups like ours to communicate with our members. If you create an account, you can just follow us and comment if you wish, but we post a lot of updates on Facebook. Other groups like the chiropractic schools, New Beginnings, DE, Milehigh and others are also regular posters on Facebook and a great resource of practice information and resources.
